Research Assistant in Behavioral Science
A research assistant position is available at IESE Business School (University of Navarra) in Barcelona. The position is full-time, with a flexible starting date between May and September 2024, and for one year, renewable for a second year.
You will work under the supervision of Profs. Claire Linares, Johannes Müller-Trede, and Sebastian Hafenbrädl. You will split your time between the three professors’ projects. Claire’s research focuses on stereotypes, face perception, and consumer behavior. Johannes studies the psychology and rationality of people’s decision making. Sebastian examines how leadership positions and attitudes impact organizational culture, firm value, and economic development.
The position is ideal for a recent graduate with a bachelor’s or master’s degree who would like to explore a research career in behavioral economics, psychology, management, or related fields. Potential candidates must have a degree in economics, psychology, related fields, or a
quantitative field such as engineering, mathematics, or statistics. They should also be organized, autonomous, hard-working, motivated to learn, should be fluent in English (at least B2) and Spanish (at least A2), and should have a work permit in Spain.
In addition, an ideal candidate may have experience reading academic papers and conducting literature searches, may be familiar with survey tools such as Qualtrics, may have experience conducting behavioral experiments (in the laboratory or online), and may be familiar with statistical software packages like R, STATA, or Python.
The compensation for this job is 1830 EUR/month (before taxes) for a full-time position. A part-time arrangement until the summer could be possible. Additionally, lunch and parking are subsidized.

Responsibilities:
· Collaborate with Prof. Zhang to develop Python scripts for data scraping from designated websites.
· Monitor and maintain daily scraping activities to ensure data collection accuracy and efficiency.
· Organize and manage the scraped data to facilitate research analysis and reporting.
· Assist in other research tasks as required, such as data analysis and literature reviews.
Key qualifications:
· Proficient in Python.
· Prior experience in website scraping is highly preferred, but not necessary. Training in scraping will be sponsored for the selected candidate.
· Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work autonomously and efficiently.
· Demonstrated motivation to learn and a strong work ethic.
