Assess the European addressable market for the adoption of agile manufacturing technologies with new 'technology as a service' business model and understand the decision-making process for the adoption.

• Researching and writing case studies and reports related to the center’s core areas (using qualitative methodologies, although quantitative experience is welcomed). Topics could include collaborations, PPPs, and ecosystems in the context of cities and regions, and in areas such as sustainability, procurement, mobility, logistics, energy, real estate, innovation districts, PPPs, city governance, urban Planning.
• Contributing to the research of the professor (literature review, data collection, writing…).
• Contribute to creation of communications materials for the center (workshop minutes, newsletters, presentations…).
• Contribute to the organization of workshops and events.
• Other activities and production of materials related to the center’s ongoing needs. We expect a proactive and flexible profile.

Research Assistant in Behavioral Science

A research assistant position is available at IESE Business School (University of Navarra) in Barcelona. The position is full-time, with a flexible starting date between May and September 2024, and for one year, renewable for a second year.

You will work under the supervision of Profs. Claire Linares, Johannes Müller-Trede, and Sebastian Hafenbrädl. You will split your time between the three professors’ projects. Claire’s research focuses on stereotypes, face perception, and consumer behavior. Johannes studies the psychology and rationality of people’s decision making. Sebastian examines how leadership positions and attitudes impact organizational culture, firm value, and economic development.

The position is ideal for a recent graduate with a bachelor’s or master’s degree who would like to explore a research career in behavioral economics, psychology, management, or related fields. Potential candidates must have a degree in economics, psychology, related fields, or a

quantitative field such as engineering, mathematics, or statistics. They should also be organized, autonomous, hard-working, motivated to learn, should be fluent in English (at least B2) and Spanish (at least A2), and should have a work permit in Spain.

In addition, an ideal candidate may have experience reading academic papers and conducting literature searches, may be familiar with survey tools such as Qualtrics, may have experience conducting behavioral experiments (in the laboratory or online), and may be familiar with statistical software packages like R, STATA, or Python.

The compensation for this job is 1830 EUR/month (before taxes) for a full-time position. A part-time arrangement until the summer could be possible. Additionally, lunch and parking are subsidized.

IESE Business School at the University of Navarra is currently accepting applications for a Research Assistant position starting in July 2024. This opportunity provides an excellent platform for recent graduates with a background in data science (bachelor's or master's degree) who are keen to develop skills in web scraping and to pursue a career in quantitative research in applied microeconomics, business or any related field.

You will work under the supervision of Prof. Hester Zhang, whose research interest lies in empirical industry organization. Her ongoing projects study economic and managerial implications of digital platforms.

Responsibilities:

· Collaborate with Prof. Zhang to develop Python scripts for data scraping from designated websites.

· Monitor and maintain daily scraping activities to ensure data collection accuracy and efficiency.

· Organize and manage the scraped data to facilitate research analysis and reporting.

· Assist in other research tasks as required, such as data analysis and literature reviews.

Key qualifications:

· Proficient in Python.

· Prior experience in website scraping is highly preferred, but not necessary. Training in scraping will be sponsored for the selected candidate.

· Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work autonomously and efficiently.

· Demonstrated motivation to learn and a strong work ethic.

You will work under the supervision of Prof. Hester Zhang, whose research interest lies in empirical industry organization. Her ongoing projects examine competition policies in the European Union and the United States using a structural approach.

Key qualifications:

· Hold a bachelor's or master's degree in economics, business, or a related field.

· Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work autonomously and efficiently.

· Demonstrated motivation to learn and a strong work ethic.

· Proficiency in English (at least B2 level) is essential.

· Familiarity with academic literature and experience conducting literature searches.

· Experience using statistical software packages such as STATA, Matlab, R, and/or Excel.

· Prior exposure to data collection and data cleaning processes is advantageous.

BIDS Areas

I. Business Intelligence. Handling all needs related to CRM and data analysis.

II. Participant Digital Journey. Looking after the unified experience of participants throughout their relationship with IESE, from the moment of enrollment through to becoming an alum.

III. Classroom Digital Experience. Handling participants’ digital experience during sessions, whether in person, hybrid or online. Audiovisual services will be included in this unit.

IV. Technology Services, this large group brings together all tech services that support school operations. At the same time, it is organized into these teams:

1. Applications. The team will handle the maintenance of applications that employees use, except for CRM and audiovisual services. This team also includes the business partners of technology-intensive areas.
2. Infrastructure. This team will handle systems, cybersecurity services and telco.
3. Projects. This team will be in charge of new technology projects that the school undertakes, once they are approved by the committee on technology priorities.
4. Customer Support: executes standardized support improvement strategies leveraging knowledge resources concerning all areas of BIDS.

• Research Assistant (RA) will work independently and in collaboration with IESE Professors in research projects in the areas of economics / finance / marketing. RA will have 1 weekly meetings and energetic interactions with IESE Professors. The RA is not expected to be expert in all areas, rather will receive regular guidance and training from the Professor.
• Broadly, the candidate should be interested in working in: analyzing “big data”, online and social platforms, working with leading retailers in Europe, machine learning packages, econometric tools, GEO location data, consumer behavior experiments.
• The candidate should enjoy writing in English. Many projects are more intensive in writing (and less intensive in computer programming).
• The research is expected to be published in leading academic Journals, providing the RA with first-hand experience working from the start to the end with academic projects.
